Behind The Beauty.

A visual journey of the process we had to go through to develop the Believe in Beauty Campaign for Étnica Watches.
Starting shoot day 1 at 5:00am to go over the storyboard and shot list before the cast and crew arrived.
Luis Gonzalez (Brand Manager at ÉTNICA Watches) and Jaime go over the plan with model Freya Gibbs. The campaign was shot over two days - Day 1 for Videography and Day 2 for Photography. It was a pretty delicate shoot as Freya had to spend large amount of hours in the cold water and nearly every shot involved her posing underwater for as much as ten seconds per dive.
She absolutely nailed it!
Tara Whitley making a hell of a good job taking care of Freya's waterproof make-up.
Luis Gonzalez spent 24 hours on a plane and made his way half way across the globe to be fully involved in the development of the campaign. His passion and drive made the whole thing run smoothly and we were stoked to have him be a part of the whole thing where he could fully be involved in the triumphs and setbacks that such a production demands.
Here he is, going over of the fine details with the team before jumping back into the water.
Believe it or not, this is the set where the whole campaign was developed.
Our backyard pool.
We spent two days figuring out how to set up the tarp without making the pool a total mess. Water clarity was a priority, but infinite depth effect was also.
Featured above is Raul Juanes, number one production assistant, care-taker, lights man, pool manager, model-carer...Thanks buddy, you nailed it.
Deploying the package.
Freya was the bomb!!!!!!
The whole crew was impressed by her spirit and attitude making the already-hard-job, a piece of cake. It wasn't an easy role, she spent more than 20 hours underwater in two days, and kept smiling and nailing every shot.
Photo or Paiting?
This is Freya freefaling into the abys beautifully captured by Nolan Full.
Nolan was a key asset to the whole production. His vision and attitude REALLY made a difference in the outcome of the whole campaign. Not only he shot most of the campaign photos that were finally selected but he also found the time to document the whole thing and take the Behind The Scenes pictures you are viewing now.
The Magic behind the lens.
Oscar was in charge of capturing the essence underwater. He was rigged with over 50 Kilos of extra weight to keep him down and equiped with a diver's tank to be able to frame the shot before Freya steped in.
A cool perspective of Freya from above, the pool was pretty tight for it all but she was able to pull the pose every single time.
